![]() ![]() Noting that Microsoft has positioned the Laptop Go as an low-cost ultraportable laptop, we struggled to find another recently released device that we have reviewed that is of similar dimensions, weight and even configuration. The review unit we had is comfortably specced with 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and 256GB SSD storage - the highest consumer configuration that costs S$1,388 for the Surface Laptop Go, but the results will also pretty much be identical to the S$1,088 variant that has half the SSD storage. The Surface Laptop Go is powered by Intel’s 10th generation Ice Lake Core i5-1035G1 processor - which is pretty much an entry-level quad-core part. The base model comes at $599, while the 8GB+128GB configuration costs 699 and the high-end storage configuration is priced at $799.Performance, Battery Life, Experience, Conclusion Performance There are four colourways to choose from - Platinum, Sage, Ice Blue and Sandstone. The laptop comes in three configurations - 4GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. Moreover, the laptop offers two RAM options - 4GB and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. Compared to the base model of the Surface Laptop Go, which came with 64GB of internal storage, the Surface Go 2 comes with a minimum of 128GB SSD, and there is another model which offers 256GB of SSD storage, and they are removable. ![]() Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 is powered by the 11th gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor. There is a 720P camera on the front for video calls and dual far-field studio mics. Further, the laptop comes equipped with OmniSonic speakers with Dolby Atmos support. The laptop has a fingerprint sensor embedded inside the power button, but it is not available in the base configuration. The display can reach a maximum brightness of 330 nits. The Surface Laptop Go 2 features a 12.4-inch PixelSense display with an aspect ratio of 3:2 and a 1536x1024 pixel resolution. It is also $50 ( roughly Rs 3,880) costlier than its predecessor. The Surface Go 2 offers more storage with its base model than the original Surface Go, launched in 2020. Microsoft has launched the successor to its entry-level Surface Laptop Go – the Surface Laptop Go 2 – starting at $599 (Rs 46,491). ![]()
